Ashma Dahal - Coordinator- Forestry Science

I am a Forestry Instructor at Narabahadur Karmacharya Foundation, where I have been serving since January 2025. I hold a B.Sc. in Forestry from Kathmandu Forestry College, Tribhuvan University. I teach diploma-level courses in Forest Protection, Forest Utilization and management, Extension Education, and Community Forestry. My teaching approach emphasizes applied knowledge, participatory learning, and the integration of field-based experiences to prepare students for the practical challenges of the forestry sector.

Before joining the Foundation, I worked with various organizations as a trainer and research assistant and contributed to multiple research projects focusing on community forestry, human-wildlife interactions, and soil biogeochemistry. My core interests lie in forest management and wildlife conservation, and I actively participate in environmental volunteer work, including waste management initiatives and wildlife conservation awareness campaigns.

I believe that forestry is a crucial and dynamic field with enormous potential for tackling today’s major environmental concerns such as climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation, and sustainable lifestyles. Forestry education provides students with not solely ecological knowledge, but also the tools they require to make a difference in natural resource governance and community resilience. In a time when the world urgently requires sustainable solutions, I advocate for forestry education as a means of creating a greener, more equitable future.
